So, you’re in Spain (lucky duck). I can almost taste the gambas al ajillo, the calamares a la romana, the pulpo a la vinagreta, and (of course) the paella.
When we lived in Spain together life looked a bit different – no husbands, no major plans, and (good golly) no kids. We were free to lounge and sip, nibble and siesta our days away. I actually remember spending six hours in that museum in Cadiz. Six hours!?
That. Feels. Like. Another. Life.
In honor of your first trip to Spain with wee ones, I wanted to remind you of that old parlor trick, the one mom used to entertain us in fancy restaurants and quiet airplanes. You remember, don’t you?
The classic origami boat (it actually floats too!).
Once the boat is finished, little hands can stay busy adding color &/or passengers with a few pencils and crayons.
My girls still love this activity.
Here are some online instructions (with great pics), in case you’ve forgotten how to whip these up. The online version differs slightly from mom’s, however, you’ll still end up with a nifty little boat. <smile>
