This knitting thing is new to me. In the great scheme of things, sewing is fairly new too. So who would have guessed that I’d be sewing a case for my knitting needles. But here you have it. Not much to be said – it’s simply a place to keep knitting needles and other little notions that end up falling to the bottom of a bag or basket. Ah yes, I can be very organized when it comes to making something cute to be organized with!
I followed this tutorial, however I did not want to buy anything, so I just used what I had on-hand. I did not use bias tape for the edges, I just added an extra inch when cutting my fabric and sewed a simple hem on the raw edges. I also didn’t buy fleece interfacing, but did line the inside with a thin fleece/felt fabric. I think this makes I roll up a bit better. I’m sure you could probably skip that step, but adding it makes the finished product a little thicker and sturdier. Also, the tutorial measurements for the pocket were off by a half inch or so, but it was easy to customize the measurement to fit my needs, so it ended up working out just fine.
Now I just have to fill it up!
